Have you heard of the idea to choose one word for the year to help you stay focused? I heard about it in 2022 when I started following happiness and human nature researcher and author Gretchen Rubin. She shared her One-Word Theme practice and it seemed like something to try.
You can just make up the word, but I have created a process to make it more fun and easy.
Here is the manual with all the steps on one page. You can print it out. In addition, I have highlighted each step separately so you can complete the exercise right away, without leaving this page.
I also invite you to share the process and your word of the year on social media using #onewordfocus
And so that I also know about it, tag me @katiorav 🙂
Have fun finding your focus for the year 🙂
Draw pictures of the selected keywords in the middle of the paper. What feeling do you get from these words, how can you express it visually? Is it just a symbol or a metaphorical image? If necessary, google the keywords or feelings that arise and copy them. You don’t have to be able to draw everything from memory! Keep it simple. If necessary, take a separate piece of paper for drawing first.
